If he was born in Hawaii, and it appears from the authenticated birth certificate that he was, Hawaii was a state at the time he was born, therefore he was born in the United States (there's nothing stating one must be born in the CONTINENT in which the other US states are located. At least that's my understanding of it.
Nevertheless there are some crackpots out there who, because Obama is possibly more representative of the melting pot the US has become, can't stand the fact that he IS representative by virtue of having a black father, a white mother from Kansas, was born in Hawaii, lived in Indonesia, etc., etc. etc. How wonderful for all of us......and the rest who don't like it can, well....you get the idea....
